What’s your superpower?
At Emphasys IT, we believe every individual and every organisation has a superpower waiting to be discovered. Often it’s something that’s been there all along, but hasn’t always been recognised, encouraged or embraced.
We put this question to our founder Barry Morgan, here’s some of what he had to say.
“For years I was told I was a perfectionist. Early on it was praised, later I was told to tone it down, find the balance or even flat out do the opposite.
What I eventually realised is that this is my balance.
The danger isn’t being too much of who you are, it’s reducing your authentic self to fit the wrong context… a trap I almost fell into on several occasions.
In the right environment, the very thing you’re asked to soften can become your greatest strength.
While others were happy with good enough, I was thinking longer term, joining the dots, looking at the bigger picture, and refusing to settle even when no one agreed with me, because todays delivery is what impacts tomorrow.
Funnily enough it’s this very same behaviour that is so revered by our clients, its exactly what they want from a partner and one of the key reasons our clients value us today.”
